Mad Max

Matty per your comment:

. . . . so I looked into the shooting locations for Mad Max around Australia, unfortunately they are located on the East Coast. The first film was shot around Melbourne in Victoria. And the second film was shot in New South Wales, also on the east coast. If I wanted to see them, I should have gone while I was out there in January, but money was tight then. Realistically, beside the vast landscape there wouldnt be much remaining from when the film was shot in 1978. And I have been enjoying the Australian terrain plenty on my travels thus far.

But Matt, as for your and others continually poking fun at my love of Mel Gibson, Mad Max, and full-body, leather outfits, I do not appreciate it. Mad Max is a great movie, I dont care what you say. It is a well shot, post-apocolyptic film with all of the elements of a great movie. Car chases, thugs, a vengence driven protagonist and the third one even has Tina Turner. What more could you ask for? It was once the most profitable movies of all time and gave birth to a two time Oscar winner. It is a class film.

So realistically, I dont think I have a problem for liking Mad Max. Bill Thompson, an accountant from Des Moines, is the one with the problem. He has taken mid life crisis to a whole new level. His wife was able to adjust to the boots, and his turbo charged Ford Falcon, but his continually discharging his shotgun at the dinner table was a tough sell.

The leather outfit wasnt meant for everyone.

Haha, awesome post. I LOVE Mad Max dude! I dont know what I said that made you think I was making fun of you. Anyways, too bad. I was hoping thunderdome or the oil derrick fort was still out there somewhere, guess not.

But...you could go get some nitro, crossbows and a miniature helicopter and have your own mad max adventure? I expect pictures. But please, no wild boys with boomarangs...that kid was weird.
